God the Son
God the Son is the second Person of the Godhead,
eternally begotten of the Father. He is the Word and the express image of
the Father, by whom and for whom all things were created. He was sent by
the Father as Jesus Christ to be God revealed in the flesh for our
salvation. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin
Mary, fully God and fully human, two natures in one Person. He is the Son
of God and Lord of all, worthy of worship, honor and reverence. As the
prophesied Savior of humanity, he died for our sins, was raised bodily
from the dead, and ascended to heaven, from where he mediates between
humanity and God. He will come again in glory to reign as King of kings
over all nations in the kingdom of God. John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:10 - He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. John 1:14 - The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Colossians 1:15-16 - He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. Hebrews 1:3 - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Titus 2:13 - while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ Matthew 1:20 - But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
